Be part of the journey
Urbanvibe was born in 2010, when Yavnika moved to Melbourne with everything packed up in a bag- a bag full of lovely childhood memories, loads of experience in the musical instrument and customer service industry, and a hope for a bright and happy future. What Yavnika didn’t know was how to make it all happen. Together with her loved ones’ kind words and encouragement, URBANVIBE was born!!
Urbanvibe is proud to be a Female/Mother owned, family business and this is Urbanvibe’s 10 years story shown with some major and minor milestones. We are unbelievably grateful to be here and loved by many. We love musical instruments from all around the world, especially the one which are innovative, energetic, simple and melodious
the idea..
We found that in this hectic world, everybody needs to slow down, relax and find their inner self. Our passion is to help unearth musical instruments that can help us heal. So here we start our journey to present you the most desirable musical instruments by a music lover, yogi, kid or a composer. Our instruments are originals or adaptations, inspired by multicultural societies. They are fascinating!
the launch..
UrbanVibe was launched at Holliva in Richmond, Melbourne. The celebrations were joined by Friends, Family, Music Artists and plenty of Music Lovers and passers – by, who were drawn into the melodious tones.
at local Melbourne market
Promoting HAPI drum and other percussion instruments at local markets like St Kilda, Docklands and Fed Square. Masses of Melbournians were getting the first taste of our Melodious Instruments
welcoming motherhood
Our family was expanding. I now wore another hat like most of the wonderful working mothers pursuing a passion. Being a mother and giving birth was fascinating but moving out and finding time wasn’t easy, but family support kept me strong and moving.
at WOMAD
After gaining popularity at local Melbourne markets and stepping into retail and wholesale markets, Urbanvibe took another step and participated in one of the best music festivals in the world – WOMAD. It was an experience like no other. We met so many that loved world music.
in children's magazine
Child magazines and our super cute model got us a lot of luck for the Christmas festive season. Child Magazine is circulated all around Victoria promoting some of the bestselling and educational products for our little ones.
supporting exceptional artist
Few things are more important than giving back to our community. We’ve supported up and coming artists, with complimentary or discounted pricing to suit their needs and help them showcase their amazing talents and develop their careers. Manuel from Colombia was such a friend.
ONJ Wellness Centre
While going through some challenging mental and emotional stress personally (FIL not keeping well), I realised how we are surrounded by so many amazing people with a lot of positive vibes. We were overwhelmed by the kind gestures we received from Austin Hospital and Olivia Newton John Wellness Centre. It was only fitting that we gift some HAPI drums to the music therapist of ONJ centre to spread the love and warmth of the drum to cancer patients.
the refresh
Urbanvibe is getting a makeover, more secure, easy to access, colourful and more informative site for all our customers, buyers and followers.
Our much anticipated refresh – initially planned for 2020- is finally happeningÂ
stay safe
We are all in it together. Slow down, stay safe and find your inner self. Reconnect with your passion, be it – Music, Dance, Writing, Exercise! Spend time with loved ones. Be nice to each other. A little hope will show us directions and spark our future life.
